Why We Started ASCERT

In early 2015, while living and working in Zambia, our COO, Prajam Mannemplavan, began to notice something deeply concerning. Young people—bright, capable, and eager—were struggling not because of a lack of effort, but because they simply did not have the skills and knowledge required to build meaningful careers.

This wasn’t a question of potential. The potential was there.
The system had failed them.

What started as an observation soon became a question: How do we bridge this gap—and how early should we start?

With the guidance and experience of Resy Mannemplavan, an educator with decades of global experience, a deeper realization emerged. The problem was not just with students—it was far more fundamental.

The education system itself was outdated.
Educators were not equipped with the tools, methods, or even the awareness of the skills that the modern world demands. This was not just a problem in Zambia, it was a root issue in India as well.

That realization became the foundation of ASCERT Institute.

What began as an initiative to improve skills gradually evolved into something much larger—a mission to transform how individuals learn, grow, and realize their potential.

Over the years, ASCERT has worked with students, educators, and institutions across regions, driving meaningful change through training, consulting, and global opportunities.

From humble beginnings, we have taken meaningful steps. But we remain grounded in one belief:
